Senior Tax Manager
Location: St. Louis, MO (Sunset Hills area)
Salary: Open (based on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to serve as a key leader within their tax practice. This role is ideal for a high-performing tax professional who thrives in leadership, enjoys developing people, and is energized by business development and strategic growth.

This is more than a technical role. You will act as a trusted advisor, mentor, and strategic partner, working closely with firm leadership to strengthen client relationships, enhance processes, and expand the tax function.

For the right individual, this position is designed to grow into a Director-level role within approximately 1–3 years.

Key Responsibilities
Tax Leadership & Client Services
• Oversee preparation and review of individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Provide proactive tax planning and consulting services.
• Identify tax-saving strategies aligned with client goals.
• Serve as a primary advisor and relationship manager for key clients.
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop tax professionals across all levels.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
• Manage workflow, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention efforts.
• Provide ongoing coaching and career development.
Strategic Growth & Business Development
• Partner with leadership to execute strategic initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to expand services and improve processes.
• Participate in networking and business development activities.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Contribute to firm growth and long-term profitability.
Practice Management
• Stay current on tax laws and regulatory changes.
• Analyze and communicate the impact of tax legislation.
• Support process improvements and technology initiatives.
• Assist with overall tax practice development.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Active CPA license required.
• 10+ years of public accounting experience with progressive tax responsibility
• Proven experience managing complex tax engagements.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience with CCH Axcess Tax preferred (not required)
• Business development experience or interest strongly preferred.
